The OIWGA vs The Lakes Challenge
Wednesday - June 15, 2022, held at The Lakes
It was a beautiful day at The Lakes defending The Cup! The OIWGA had 15 golfers and with their skill were able to retain the cup. Be sure to stop by the pro shop and relish in our prize!
Wednesday - June 16, 2021, at Oak Island with tee times starting at 9:00. 17 OIWGA gals with 10 Lakes gals.
RESULTS: OIWGA gals won by 19 strokes!! YAHOOOOO.......

Held annually, with the Chairperson selecting the date, in which members from The Lakes and OIWGA play to determine who brings home the trophy. Site alternates every year; even-years, The Lakes and odd-years OIWGA hosts. This event has been going on for decades!
In 2019 OIWGA got the trophy back from the Lakes with a net score of 585 for the OIWGA and 591 for the Lakes. There were 19 players for the OIWGA and 8 for the Lakes. 8 names were randomly pulled out of the OIWGA by a neutral person so that the number of OIWGA ladies matched the number of Lakes players.
