When there is a death in a member’s immediate family, or she has a serious illness or surgery, the Sunshine rep sends a condolence, get well, or “thinking of you” card. Anyone may call or email the rep on their own, or on someone else’s behalf. When possible, cards will be available for members to sign in the locker room.

The Member Care rep is available to coordinate meals or other “as needed” helpful activities when a member is experiencing a difficult time. Again, notify the rep. Phone calls will be made or emails will be circulated to invite members to provide assistance.

In Our Thoughts:
Linda Trent: (family death)
Janice Rommel: (family death)
Betty Ingold: (family death)
Joan Van Noordt:
(message from Denise) It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Joan Van Noordt. Joan was an Honorary Life Member of the OIWGA. Joan served many roles as an active member. She took on the tough job as treasurer as well as being an active chair and member of many committee throughout her 30 plus years with the Association.
I personally enjoyed playing golf with Joan and loved her sense of humor. She was one to pick up the ball as to not slow others (or not give 18 any more golf balls) because she just wanted to be out there. As Judy Reid stated they enjoyed their "stupid" Bunco games together....Joan's word for it. Her daughter in law, Liz, said this morning she remembers that and how Joan always wondered why more people didn't play bridge, now that was a game. Elizabeth Pollock remembers her as a woman of grace. Many will remember Joan from Election Days at Ocean View United Methodist Church where she would be for hours checking us all in and making sure you received your sticker.
I am sure we all have our stories to reflect our feelings for Joan. Thank you for sharing some of them so we may pass them along to members who may not have know her.
The sunshine/member care committees are working on helping the family with meals.
Let’s look out for one another!
